For those of you who are intrested in building a low cost racing alternator set up, hear are a few pictures and a step by step of how to build your own set up.

I bought a 12"x12" sheet of 3/16" aluminum which I cut to the size alternator stand base plus an extra 1 1/4" to the righ side drilled total of 6 holes, 4 for the base and 2 to hold the alternator bracket. I made the braket out of 1" angle iron them welded a tube to it with a thick washer at each end which supports the alternator.

Drill your last 2 holes after you align your alternator.

Top bracket of the alternator bolts to top exhaust header. As for yor oil stand choose the style you like drill a large hole and weld them together.
I bought 2 small alternators at Pomona swamp meet and started building what I thought would work.
Hope this help some of you who have wanted to add a charging system to your race cars at a fraction to custom made set up.
